What is happening with fuel prices in Ukraine

Should Ukrainians expect a reduction in fuel prices in the future.

Following Biden’s announcement that the United States would supply 1 million barrels of oil to the European market daily using its reserves, world gasoline prices fell by 5.4%. This was reported by Bloomberg.

But what is the situation in Ukraine, journalists of “Today” decided to find out from the former president of the Association of Petroleum Market Operators of Ukraine Leonid Kosyanchuk.

According to the expert, Biden’s decision is a positive signal for Ukraine, as it will really reduce prices on the European oil market, where our country buys it. But Kosyanchuk is very skeptical that this will drastically affect the cost of gasoline for ordinary Ukrainians, at least in the short term.

Today the issue is not the price of oil products, but their availability in general. Given how many oil depots we have bombed, and these difficulties with logistics, prices are a secondary issue,” said Kosyanchuk.

The issue of reducing the price at gas stations also depends on the conscience of the owners of gas station networks, says the expert. Given all these factors, Ukrainians should not expect a very sharp collapse in fuel prices, as there is a high risk of its deficit.

Prices for the A-92 also decreased by 7 kopecks, amounting to UAH 33.27 per liter. Diesel fuel also fell in price by an average of 8 kopecks, its price is UAH 36.98.
