What is known

Russian media report the destruction of an An-26 military transport aircraft by the Russian Aerospace Forces. Mi-28, Ka-52 and Mi-35 helicopters were also taken into the sky. According to rumors, a bomb was dropped on the M-4 highway leading to Moscow.

But much more interesting is the information that mercenaries from the Wagner PMC destroyed two very rare Russian Mi-8MTPR-1 electronic warfare helicopters at once. Below you can see a photo of one of them. In mid-May, Russia also lost two such helicopters. Both were shot down in Russia, about 50 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The Mi-8MTPR-1 is used for airborne jamming and as an enemy air defense system. The helicopter is equipped with the Lever-AV active jamming station. It suppresses the operation of aircraft and anti-aircraft missiles within a radius of more than 100 km. The cost of a helicopter with the Lever-AV system is up to $10 million.
