Ukraine is developing the Sokil-300 drone with a flight range of 3,000 km

Engineers of the state enterprise LUCH are working on the creation of long-range weapons. We are talking about the Sokil-300 aircraft, the flight range of which will be 3,000 km. Sergey Zgurets from Defense Express told journalists about the development of a new drone in Ukraine.

He reminded that earlier ‘Ukroboronprom’ announced a kamikaze drone with a flight range of 1,000 km. This is enough to get to Moscow. Zgurets noted that the development of the state-owned enterprise ‘LUCH’ seems to him to be a faster option for creating a long-range drone. Depending on the power plant installed on the UAV, its flight range will vary between 1,000-3,000 km.

The presentation of the Sokil-300 project took place before the start of the invasion. Oleg Korostylov, the general designer of LUCH, promised to finish the development of the drone by the end of the year, provided that UAH 47 million is allocated. The Sokol uses the same node blocks as the Neptune anti-ship missile. The copter can carry on board both reconnaissance equipment and a combat unit. Thus, it can be used not only to collect intelligence, but also to strike deep in the enemy’s rear.
