Ukraine in the conditions of war – a recent sociological poll of the social group “Rating”

The eighth nationwide poll: “Ukraine in the conditions of war” (April 6, 2022) of the social group “Rating” showed interesting data:

  • 91% of Ukrainians do not think that Russians and Ukrainians are one people (in July only 56% thought so, while 41% thought that Russians and Ukrainians were one people);
  • 80% of Ukrainians are proud of the state (in August this figure was 34%);
  • 98% of respondents self-identify as citizens of Ukraine (previously – 75%), and as “Europeans” – from 27 to 57%. Instead, fewer and fewer respondents describe themselves as “Soviet people”, their number has decreased from 21 to 7%;
  • 64% of Ukrainians believe that it is impossible to restore friendly relations with Russians (42% last month). 22% believe that this is possible only in 20-30 years
  • Sadness, about Ukraine, is felt by 32%, joy – 20%, fear – 16%, anger – 11%, interest – 6%. Today, respondents, such as indifference and shame about Ukraine, are practically absent;
  • about 80% of respondents in one way or another, participate in the defense of the country: 45% financially (in March 2022 – 39%), 35% – volunteering, participate in information resistance – 18%, work in critical infrastructure – 13%, participate in the defense – 3%, or the military – 3%;
  • 81% support the idea of ​​raising taxes for Ukrainian businesses that continue to operate in Russia;
  • the vast majority (90%) support the initiative to deprive pro-Russian deputies of their seats. 86% support a total ban on their activities in Ukraine;
  • half of the respondents (51%) believe that the state should ban the activities of the UOC-MP on the territory of Ukraine (the ban is supported by two thirds of the respondents from the west and only 29% from the east).

Audience: the population of Ukraine aged 18 and older in all oblasts, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas. The sample is representative by age, sex and type of settlement. Sample population: 1200 respondents. Survey method: CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews). Error of representativeness of the study with a confidence level of 0.95: not more than 2.8%. Dates: April 6, 2022
