The Russians are sending computer viruses on behalf of the SSU

The occupiers continue their efforts to launch cyberattacks on Ukrainians. The Security Service of Ukraine stressed that it is necessary to pay special attention to information security – this time the Russians are trying to spread viruses on behalf of the SSU.

The SSU reported that the occupiers were trying to send computer viruses, allegedly on behalf of the Security Service. The main targets are civil servants, through whom Russians try to gather confidential information.

The agency noted that Russians use popular messengers for cyberattacks.

The messages ask to download a file with supposed instructions for action during the war. Although in fact it is a viral program, the SSU warned.

The country’s security service urges being careful about such reports – the real SSU does not carry out any mailings.
