Tesla has lost its leadership in the electric car market

The most popular electric cars in the world for 2022 have been named. Tesla lost the lead to China’s BYD.

Sales of electric cars in the world show rapid growth. In the first half of the year, 3.05 million electric cars have already been sold — 22% more than in the same period last year. This is evidenced by the statistics of the Clean Technica website.

In June, alone, 685,000 electric cars were sold in the world — 65% more than a year earlier. By the end of the year, there is every chance to overcome the mark of 6 million cars.

Surprisingly, the production of electric cars was much less affected by the shortage of microchips than the production of gasoline and diesel cars. However, it is for this reason that Tesla has lost its leadership to China’s BYD.
