Russian media have been banned from displaying the Meta, Facebook and Instagram logos

Russian media outlets were banned from displaying logos of Meta Platforms Inc. Facebook Instagram, as well as the social networks owned by her.

Such a requirement for the Russian media is put forward by Roskomnadzor. After the recognition of Meta as extremist in Russia, the agency issued a corresponding statement.

It is not allowed to display the logo of Meta Platforms Inc in the Russian media. Instagram, Facebook and its own social networks,
– the message says.

It is worth noting that this rule applies not only to the media – the demonstration of these logos is prohibited for everyone in Russia.

In addition, Russian media will be required to label Meta Platforms Inc. as a banned organization in the country. It should be noted that mandatory labeling for the media will become after the Russian Ministry of Justice includes Meta in the list of extremist organizations.

Facebook Instagram will also be excluded from the Russian register of social networks. At the same time, Meta will be excluded from the list of foreign persons who operate on the internet.

Why social networks Meta were banned in Russia

Instagram Facebook and Instagram, the prosecutor general’s office demanded that Meta be recognized as an “extremist organization” after the company stopped removing threats and calls for violence against the Russian military in some countries.

Users could express death wishes to Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, but this ban did not last long.
