Russian BMPT Terminator-2 arrived in Ukraine and were disgraced, and the survivors are waiting to be withdrawn from the combat zone

In the middle of last month, Russian propaganda actively promoted the Terminator-2 tank support combat vehicle, but now the surviving equipment is waiting to be withdrawn from Ukraine.

BMPT ‘Terminator-2’ has never been used in combat. She did not pass the baptism by Ukrainian fire. The cars entered the territory of our country, promptly showed their incapacity in the current conditions and are now waiting for them to be taken out of Ukraine or at least taken away from the front.

At the end of May, armored vehicles came under artillery fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is unlikely that our soldiers managed to destroy all the fighting vehicles of the occupiers. But there is information that at least three BMPT ‘Terminator-2’ received damage, of which one car is unlikely to fight.

The key reasons for the futility of the ‘Terminators’ in battle – the huge weight and weapons. First, the combat vehicle that was supposed to cover the tanks turned out to be less mobile than the tanks themselves. Its mass is more than 50 tons with a full load that exceeds the weight of the tank T-72B3 and does not meet the capabilities of the engine B-92C2. Secondly, the armament of BMPT ‘Terminator-2’ is meaningless over long distances, where the main part of the clashes takes place.

Now the Russian command is facing a choice. In order not to lose all the surviving BMPT ‘Terminator-2’, they must either be taken away from the front line, or sent home to Russia. And they are unlikely to be back.
