Plus 750 cars: Ukrzaliznytsia continues to nationalize the property of the aggressor country

After a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops, the government decided to nationalize property belonging to the aggressor country. The relevant law “On the Basic Principles of Compulsory Seizure of Russian Property in Ukraine” was signed by the President on March 10, 2022.

Adhering to this document, the State Bureau of Investigation began to carry out large-scale sets of measures to identify and alienate Russian and Belarusian property in favor of Ukraine. Railway cars were nationalized. Thus, in Vinnytsia region, 757 empty freight cars were found at the railway stations of Kozyatyn and Zhmeryn subdivisions of the South-Western Railway. 447 of them belong to Russian companies and 310 to Belarusian ones.

DBR specialists also found 886 empty cars in Dnipropetrovsk region and Zaporizhia. Of these, 652 belong to Russian enterprises and 234 to Belarusian ones. In the near future, all these cars will be forcibly removed and handed over to the needs of the Ukrainian army.
