New Volvo cars will receive air updates

Volvo is turning its cars into smartphones – at least in terms of firmware updates (and possibly other systems). All new cars of the brand will be updated by air – just like smartphones are being updated now.

And the company in this regard does not differentiate between the type of engine and platform: the air will be updated and electric cars and cars with internal combustion engines – the same XC90, S60 and V60. In fact, some of the manufacturer’s cars are already updated by air (the latest version of this firmware received more than 190,000 cars in 34 countries), but in the future all Volvo cars will receive updates in this way
