Netflix has given the green light to the second season of Squid Game

Netflix has officially confirmed that the acclaimed Korean squid thriller ‘Squid Game’ will have a second season, and has released the first 10-second teaser along with the first details of the plot.

The first season of Squid Game was released in 2021 and was a resounding success, with 111 million accounts viewed in the 17 days since its release, an absolute Netflix record at the time. At the end of 2021, Hwang Don Hoek confirmed the start of work on the new season and promised to return to the plot of the protagonist of the first season of Son Gui Hoon. In January, Netflix’s top management confirmed that Squid Game would definitely be a sequel and the beginning of the universe, but the formal announcement has only just taken place.

Netflix has once again confirmed that the second season of ‘Squid Games’ will be responsible for Hwang Don Hoek, who worked on the show’s debut season. At the same time, the director once again confirmed the return of Son Guo Hoon and the host of the games in the second season. In addition, the audience will meet the guy Yong-hi – a robot doll from the first episode, where the characters played the game ‘The quieter you go – the further you will be.’

Earlier, the authors of the show noted that the sequel should not be expected before the end of 2023, but it is impossible to change the schedule – the second season may come out earlier or later.
