Germany will hand over 16 unusual Biber vehicles on the chassis of the Leopard 1 tank to Ukraine

Ukraine will soon receive a new batch of tracked vehicles from Germany. This time – for laying bridges.

While the Armed Forces are waiting for the delivery of Leopard tanks, the German Ministry of Defense announced the transfer of machines for laying bridges based on Leopard 1 tanks. The technique is called Biber. Ukraine will receive 16 bridge-layers from the Bundeswehr’s reserves.

It should be noted that recently Berlin has become noticeably more active in terms of military aid. Recently, the German Ministry of Defense announced the transfer to Ukraine of three MARS II rocket systems, ten PzH 2000 howitzers and five Gepard anti-aircraft tanks. In addition, the Bundestag allowed the manufacturer of the PzH 2000 to negotiate directly with Ukraine for the production of 100 self-propelled guns for €1.7 billion.
